Bear Bottom Cabin

Bear Bottom Cabin

Cabin, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

Don & Brenda would like to invite you to enjoy their very cute, very cozy cabin. They stripped this 1895 original Estes Park cabin to the bare bottom, hence the name “The Bear Bottom Cabin” to bring it back to its natural rustic charm. It is about 2 blocks from downtown Estes and about a 15 minute drive to the north entrance of RMNP.
After a day of hiking, shopping, snowshoeing, or even fishing you could come back and relax in the outdoor private hot tub or sit on the deck and take in the views of Lumpy Ridge and the famous Stanley Hotel, all while watching the elk and deer who are frequent visitors to the neighborhood. On cooler nights you can enjoy the electric fire in the original moss rock fireplace.

This cabin is perfect for those who love to walk to town without having to drive through traffic or having the hassle of finding a parking spot. This cabin is to be enjoyed year round.

Perfect views, perfect location!

September, 2017

My wife and I stayed in this cabin 8 years ago as an engaged couple, and just returned to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. The cabin is perfect getaway for couples. The views of the Stanley and the Twin Owls are outstanding, the location is ideal for short walks to downtown or quick drives to RMNP, and the hot tub is the perfect way to relax after a nice hike. We love this cabin and will be back the next time we’re in Estes!

Great place for a RMNP vacation

Great place for a RMNP vacation Very clean and comfortable. Good location close to park and walking distance to town.

Great place to stay!

July, 2017

This is a great cabin, within easy walk of stores & restaurants in Estes Park. For a start, it is very cute to look at and is actually much bigger than it looks in the photo. The whole place is well equipped, and has thought of almost everything you need during your stay. Loved the fact that it has a hot tub, which was great to use after hiking each day. The kitchen was well equipped, so we could actually cook dinner here and eat at the table on the deck. You can see animals from the deck( a bear was around!) and it is surprisingly quiet considering Estes Park was really busy. Thanks for the stay, and we hope to return!

Beautiful. As advertised and a perfect getaway cabin.

May, 2017

Very much enjoyed the hot tub after hiking in RMNP.

Convenient / Cozy

May, 2017

Cozy, very clean and very convenient to Estes Park.
It is not secluded, but there is a sense of privacy with the fencing. (google earth the location to make your own decision)
The hot tub was a nice perk.
The view is better than indicated on the website.
All in all a very good cabin and a bargain.

Beautiful and relaxing

My husband and I did a quick weekend trip and had an amazing time. The cabin is adorable and cozy. We loved the hot tub and how close it was to town. If you’re looking for a romantic cabin that’s close to everything – look no further!

Fantastic Cabin

September, 2016

We chose Bear bottom cabin for the second half of our stay in Colorado (first half in Colorado Springs) as we celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary. It was a perfect choice! The cabin was cozy, romantic and well-maintained. It had everything we needed. Location was great – a short walk to town, and an easy drive to RMNP where we spent most of our day time hiking, biking and exploring. The hot tub in the evening was the perfect way to relax. We recommend this property to anyone

Perfect place to stay while in Estes

February, 2016

My husband and I stayed at Bear Bottom Cabin for our first Valentine’s Day together as a married couple. We could not have chosen a more perfect place to stay. Everything about the cabin was amazing. Next time we come back to Estes, we are definitely staying here versus a hotel. It has everything you need and more. The location is literally blocks from downtown, The Stanley, Safeway….etc. The cabin was equipped with all the essentials (full kitchen, coffee maker, microwave, pots, pans, plates EVERYTHING) and the hot tub was a MAJOR bonus. Even though the winter weather brought in strong winds and some stinging snow, none of it mattered the second we got in the hot tub and stared up at the stars and the awesome view of The Stanley. The cabin is located in the middle of a neighborhood (some rentals, some residential) but you still get a good sense of privacy and isolation. It was so quiet and peaceful. The bed was EXTREMELY comfortable. So comfortable, in fact, that my husband and I found ourselves sleeping in until noon! That never happens!
If you find yourself trying to decide where to stay in Estes, make things easy for yourself and just stay here. You will absolutely not regret it.

Perfect place to stay while in Estes

Cozy, cute cabin was a perfect getaway

September, 2015

My husband and I recently stayed at Bear Bottom cabin in Estes Park (9/17-9/20/15). It was such a great place –close to everything yet secluded. We enjoyed wildlife sighting from the picture window (elk and mule deer). The cabin had all the supplies we needed to cook meals and feel at home. The location is close to downtown Estes Park and easy access to RMNP entrance. A few days of hiking in RMNP was the reason for our stay and we couldn’t have picked a better place. It truly felt like home during our time there and the hot tub was a treat after a long hike! Everything was well-maintained. The owners provided a nice “guide book” for information on things throughout the cabin as well as area hikes. I highly recommend this cabin as a place to stay when visiting the area. We’ll definitely stay here again when we return to Estes Park.

Absolutely breathtaking, magical, and wondrous

February, 2015

My girlfriend and I stayed over the Valentine’s Day weekend (Feb. 12th through the 16th) and loved every minute of it. The cabin is designed to have that woodsy, authentic feel, while providing you with any and all conveniences you could think of. The hot tub worked like a charm and we even got to use it while it snowed! Talk about romantic.
The bed and sitting areas were more than comfortable and we found ourselves lounging and enjoying the outdoors more from inside the cabin than outside! The breakfast nook was purposeful and nicely placed for our morning brunch and view of the Stanley Hotel. The cabin was also loaded with all things you would need for cooking and cleaning. We didn’t find ourselves looking for or wanting anything else (aside from more food, lol). What a great experience.
If anyone is reading this and trying to decide between this cabin and another, save yourself some time and just choose this one. You won’t find a more romantic, well-placed cabin in Estes Park for the price, coupled with the amenities. I will definitely be staying here again in the future.

cozy and quaint

July, 2014

My fiancé and I arrived Tuesday July 29th and loved the cabin right away. It was perfect for us, and the hot tub was a great treat after hiking all day in the Rockies. We will hopefully be back to stay here in the future.

Looking forward to returning

July, 2014

The Bear Bottom cabin was just what we needed to break up our summer! We even got to watch the fireworks from the hot tub! The pictures do not give justice to the size and quality furnishings that are part of this property. The ease of the hot tub, grill, and bistro set on the deck were perfect. My wife enjoyed the washer and dryer but she really liked the décor and especially the comfortable bed…and if momma isn’t happy you know the rest. Looking forward to returning to Bear Bottom Cabin!

soaking in the hot tub and checking out the stars

May, 2014

Enjoyed a fine springtime week in the cabin. Having breakfast at the table looking out at the Twin owls, grilling dinner out on the deck, soaking in the hot tub and checking out the stars…..and it’s a quick walk to town when you get tired of enjoying the cabin.
Of course the hiking in the park is what brought us here. And always good food to be found though get there before 9pm !!! Went to Lake Mary Lodge restaurant for first visit. Very pleasant staff and a great wild game meatloaf. Have to try the Buffalo, Elk and Trout in town.

Can’t wait to come back

December, 2013

We just spend four days at the cabin and loved it! We didn’t want to leave. As soon as we walked in we felt right at home and we were so surprised that the cabin was fully decorated with Christmas decorations including a Christmas tree! We went snowshoeing at Rocky Mountain National Park and enjoyed the awesome hot tub every night. The town is very cute and an irish bar named Lonigan’s has great story’s about the local wildlife walking through! The cabin is very clean and has everything you need! This is a perfect getaway! We can’t wait to come back!

very nice

September, 2013

The property itself was very nice. But our vacation was ruined by the 100 year flood that occurred last week in Estes Park. Everything in the town was destroyed and we were lucky to get out of town by going west through Rocky Mountain National Park. It cut our vacation short. But the people that live there had unbelievable damage. It will be a long time before the town and the surrounding area recovers.

Wonderful, cozy, cute little cabin

December, 2012

I loved this cabin. The pictures do not do justice for this amazing cabin. The cabin was so wonderful and cozy, just the right size for me and my husband. The Jacuzzi was the cherry on top. It was a beautiful and amazing visit. We will return to this cabin in the future. Thank you for a magical time in Colorado.

Charming Cabin in the Rockies

January, 2012

We had a wonderful time in a very adorable, rustic but modern cabin. It was perfect for my husband and I. We snowshoe in the park and then relaxed in the wonderful hot tub. The location is great. We even had deer in the front yard and elk across the street. A must stay in Estes!!
