The Little Brown Cabin was perfect for our family, including 12 & 16 year old boys, and my mom. It was a cozy fit but still no complaints. From the moment we drove up to the time we left (and we didn’t want to leave!!), everything was really nice. Other than the little bit of road noise, the area was quiet, quaint, view was awesome, and we did see elk & deer on the property. We were excited to see bear claw marks on the trash can! Luckily no bears. Cabin had everything we needed and the location was close enough to “town” but far enough away from all the tourists. Super easy access to RMNP. Grocery store and restaurants were just a very short drive. Loved this cabin and our vacation to Estes. We will treasure it!

Our family of four (two boys 7 and 9) had a wonderful stay at the Little Brown Cabin. The cabin itself is exactly what you picture a mountain cabin should be. With a well-stocked kitchen and plenty of beautiful views, our family felt at home.

First of Many Visits to Little Brown Cabin...

At least we hope so. We absolutely loved it – it was like a second home! The grill worked wonderfully, the electric stove likewise. Plenty of dishes, glasses, and utensils. The view from the front and side sitting areas are simply breathtaking. There was a steady parade of wildlife making its way past the cabin – deer, elk, chipmunks, numerous birds (humming, crows, magpies, and others I wasn’t able to identify). The double bed was firm, but comfortable; our sons said the twin beds in the loft were equally comfortable. The weather was on the warm/hot side when we arrived so the cabin was a tad stuffy, but opening the windows and running the two box fans provided had it cooling off to a satisfactory level for us. However, if you like it really cool you will have to wait for overnight temps to drop – we woke a little chilly a couple of mornings during our stay. The bathroom is strictly business – i.e. it is tiny, and leaves little room to maneuver for larger folks (I’m 6 foot / 250+). Shower worked well, and water warmed quickly. Bottom line, this was a perfect cabin for us – but we like things rather simple so this was kind of high living for us. If you are the type that likes all the amenities, and a cushy stay, then this might not be the cabin for you. There are plenty of those popping up around Estes Park, but you can have ’em – I and my family will take the Little Brown Cabin every time we are back in Estes Park.

This was our second time staying at the Little Brown Cabin. It was great to be back! Amazing location! Kids (7 and 9) slept upstairs, just like two years ago, and loved it up there. Hope to be back again before long!

Our Fifth Year in a Row at the Little Brown Cabin!

July 13, 2018

This is the fifth year in a row that we have stayed at the Little Brown Cabin and we have never been disappointed. We love coming back to our home away from home. We love the location of the cabin. In about 5 minutes you can be in Rocky Mountain Nat. Park. In the same amount of time you can be in downtown Estes Park. It is located in a nice quite neighborhood and often frequented by deer and elk. There is a grand view of Long’s Peak outside of the large picture window.
The cabin is always spotless when we arrive. The cabin has a homey, rustic charm that we love. It is such a pleasant place to come home to after a long hike in the park. I will work on my photos that I took and my wife will make herself at home in one of the comfy chairs and read a book. The WiFi is very fast and reliable. The little sunroom just off the kitchen is a favorite place as the many windows allow us to view wildlife as we eat a meal. And all the items you need to make meals are there at hand along with stove/oven, microwave, etc.
We have had the privilege to become acquainted with the owners of the cabin love talking with them and catching up on things. They are wonderful people. I highly recommend this cabin and think you will thoroughly enjoy your time there. I know we do and can’t wait to go back again!!

There Is No Place Like Home!

Staying at the Little Brown Cabin is like coming home. When we get there we immediately unpack everything, put clothes in drawers, hang clothes in the closet, and pretend like we are here to stay. It is our home away from home. And when we leave it is like saying goodbye to an old friend. The cabin is quaint, comfy, and is a great place to relax and put your feet up. The cabin is clean and well kept by a wonderful husband and wife who are decent, honest, people. Kids will love the upstairs/attic bedroom area with 3 beds and lots of games and books for kids to enjoy. The rest of the cabin is outfitted with all the items you will need for your stay. The cabin is located very close to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park and is also just a few minutes from uptown Estes Park. Lots of wildlife can be seen right from the cabin. We watched bull elk battle each other for dominance right outside the front picture window. Sadly we had to eventually leave and head back home. But we look forward to coming back again to our second home, the Little Brown Cabin.

We had a wonderful time enjoying the park and a relaxing stay at the Little Brown Cabin. We will remember it fondly.
Please pass on our gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Brown. We thoroughly enjoyed their cabin, especially all of the special touches of “Brown” memorabilia, antiques, the Swedish décor and the art work. We got a good laugh from “A Late-Riser’s Miserable Breakfast”. My wife could relate to that piece with a smile.

Very clean and adorable cabin. The pictures online do not do it justice! We had everything we needed and the kids loved the loft. Also loved all the books for enjoying as well as the abundant literature on the surrounding area. Bathroom could be a little larger but that is the only negative! Will recommend it to others!

We were so pleased how easy it was to go from the cabin to the Rocky Mountain National Park. It’s close to town and very convenient to go anywhere in Estes Park. The cabin is decorated perfectly reflecting mountain living with a personal touch. We loved it!

This is a delightful cabin, near town and national park but set back in the trees in a quiet area. The view toward Long’s Peak is wonderful. The cabin was squeaky clean and nicely decorated. I love the alcove with the desk. This was the perfect place for me for rest and renewal. I enjoyed the assortment of books and magazines. I didn’t use the upstairs but I imagine children would love it. The sunporch-dining area is lovely. Mule deer and elk wandered by but were no problem. Yes, in response to other reviews, the bathroom is tiny but the shower is fine. If you want a trendy condo, this is not for you. If you want a comfortable, unique, mountain cabin experience with a great view, this IS for you.

This cabin was perfect for our family of five. We could hardly get the kids out of the loft. The loft had very low ceilings, so I wouldn’t recommend adults try to sleep there. The bathroom was also tiny, but worked ok for us. Overall, this cabin has a lot of space. The location cannot be beat…only 5 minutes to RMNP entrance and 5 minutes to Estes Park, and felt very private, with neighbors nearby, but not extremely close. I loved browsing the book collection and the board games that I recognized from my childhood. We were delighted to wake up one morning and look out the windows to discover we were surrounded on three sides by a herd of grazing elk! They remained there most of the day…we left for a hike and came back that afternoon to find them still hanging out. The wi-fi worked perfectly. There is no A/C and it did get hot during the day, but there were several box fans that we were able to use to improve the temperature. I did a lot of research for this trip…I’m pretty sure I priced every hotel and cabin in the area and this is a great deal for what you get!

Just Like Coming Home!

We absolutely love the Little Brown Cabin. It feels like we are coming home when we walk in the door. The cabin is very clean and tidy. We love the little sunroom where you can eat breakfast and watch elk and deer roam around the cabin. The living room has a large picture window with a great view of Long’s Peak. My wife loves to plop down in one of the chairs in the living room and read a book. I appreciate the great internet connection there. It is super for posting pictures that you took during a hike. There is a nice little desk to put your computer on. The upstairs is really cool for kids. It has 3 single beds up there with books and games and other things to keep kids occupied. The location of the cabin is excellent. You can be in RMNP in minutes and the downtown area is not far away either. Plus the cabin is a little off the beaten path so the nights are nice and quiet. The owners are great people who do the utmost to make sure everything is in tip top condition for your stay. I highly recommend the Little Brown Cabin for your vacation stay and we look forward to coming back again soon.

This is our second time staying at the little Brown cabin, it was just as great as the first! Is always so clean and well kept. We loved the addition of wifi! Again, we had multiple wildlife “friends” come and visit, making it extra special for our daughter (who has named one of the mule deer Geoffrey 🙂 the location is also perfect, close enough to downtown but far enough away to feel tenor and just mere minutes from RMNP.

Little Brown Cabin – Perfect!

August 20, 2013

My sister and I spent 4 nights at the “Little Brown Cabin” and loved it. It was very clean and comfortable with mountain views from the living room. A nice feature was the closed-in sun porch where we had dinner some evenings. While having dinner in the sun porch one evening, 3 deer walked by our window.
The cabin seemed bigger than the pictures on the website show. We had plenty of luggage as we were traveling for 3 weeks and didn’t feel crowded at all.
The bathroom is rather small, but the shower area wasn’t.
We totally enjoyed our stay in this cute cabin with the entrance of RMNP being so close as well as visiting downtown Estes Park.

The cabin felt very welcoming right from the minute you walk in. The kitchen has everything you need to make and serve a meal (of course you bring the food – I mean the utensils, plates, etc.). The view from the bay window in the living room is stunning. Everything was clean and felt cared for when we arrived. Our family loved it!

Little Brown Cabin offered great accomodations-convenient to Rocky Mountain National Park and restaurants. Truly everything was provided that one might consider at a cabin-crockpot, extra soap, dish towels, very clean cabin, comfortable furnishings, discount card -Rocky Card-for local activities/restaurants, bottled water in refrigerator, plenty of boxes of tissue paper for those new to the “thin air.” The bathroom is small but no big deal-it’s been well kept through the years. The details to making one’s stay pleasant is noticed and appreciated.

Spotlessly clean cabin with tons of charm! Beautiful view of Long’s Peak from the living room window. Stocked with both games and books to use while relaxing at the cabin. The kitchen is squeaky clean with all the pots, pans & dishes you need to cook your own meals. Every little touch made us feel like we were at home, including the flower box under the window with brightly blooming geraniums. Don’t be surprised when deer and elk stroll by the windows as you’re eating dinner!
We’re sure anyone would enjoy a week at the Little Brown Cabin as much as we did, especially if you have the opportunity to meet the owners, who were so kind as to share their knowledge of both Estes Park & Rocky Mountain National Park with us, making our stay there even more enjoyable.

Perfect cabin for family vacation!
We just got home from 3 nights in the Little Brown Cabin and we’re already missing it terribly! The pictures make it look cute, but don’t quite do it justice. It is so much more adorable and spacious than we were expecting! The views are amazing, lots of room outside to explore, and we saw lots of wildlife. And the inside was so clean, beautifully decorated and well-maintained. The owners truely thought of everything, from the candy dish on the counter, to the umbrella and fly-swatter, and all the helpful Estes brochures. I have nothing but great things to say about this cabin! We can’t wait to go back!

Adorable Little Brown Cabin!!

July 20, 2011

I stayed with my two teenage boys at this cabin and we absolutely LOVED it!! It was my younger one who commented over and over about how “adorable” it is. The highlight was when a beautiful doe came to see what was for dinner one evening! My kids really enjoyed having their own sleeping loft upstairs. The cabin was very comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked. We took advantage of some of the card decks and games available in our evenings. The cabin is very clean and very well-maintained, and we had the pleasure of meeting the owners as we were leaving. They are a charming and very gracious couple who takes great pride in the cabin, as it has been in the family for generations! Access to RMNP is less than 5 minutes away, and the drive into downtown Estes Park is very quick as well. Just enough privacy, but close to local amenities. We loved our stay, and miss it already!!

We spent three nights at the Little Brown Cabin and enjoyed the accommodations. It was very clean and nicely decorated. It was also very convenient to RMNP and the Beaver Creek entrance. My 12 year old son enjoyed all the books available and some of the old time decorations. He slept in the attic which was perfect size (ceiling height ) for kids or small adults. The bathroom was very tiny but since we are fairly small (5:6″) and slim it worked for us. We hated leaving.
